Announcement: Horror Score Draft Collaboration w/ "Would You Die?" Podcast!

Those who have been following me for a while are probably also familiar with my friend Austin Torres and his horror podcast, “Would You Die?” — over the last year and a half, I’ve had the pleasure of being a guest on “Would You Die?” a couple times to discuss two of my all-time favorite horror films, Dracula (1931) and Gremlins (1984). Austin and I have become pretty good friends in that time as well, and I always enjoy our conversations, both on and off the recorders.
Last night, I was a guest on the latest “Would You Die?” YouTube livestream, this time tasked with the challenge of drafting a team composed of different horror film scores. As a former musician, this was a topic that obviously piqued my interest, and I was happy to be invited to participate in the challenge.
As you’ll hear throughout the episode, it was mentioned how easy it would’ve been to just pick the most popular scores and go from there, but I believe Austin and I both did a decent job of acknowledging the obvious legendary compositions while also making room to shout out some underappreciated scores, even if they’re from relatively well-known films.
All in all, this was a very fun challenge and as always, it’s an honor to be invited onto my friend’s show. I hope whoever listens to this episode has as much fun listening to it as Austin and I had while recording it. Also, let us know who you think had the better team!
